Compagnie des Mines Arédiennes It conducts studies on groundwater and surface water to establish an inventory of water resources and monitor their evolution over two to three years, across several climatic cycles. The extension of the Douillac PER (Plan d'Études et de Recherches - Research and Study and Research Project) allows for a broader investigation area around the former mining sites.
From the start of the geological reconnaissance drilling campaign in spring 2025, the Compagnie des Mines Arédiennes conducted sound measurements and implemented technical solutions on the ground to characterize and reduce noise related to acoustic emissions from the drilling site.
Compagnie des Mines Arédiennes commissioned a third-party consultant to conduct a territorial audit, which took place from March to August 2025 with a representative panel of stakeholders in the Pays Arédien region. The results were presented to the participants in October 2025 at a feedback meeting.

From Wednesday, June 25th to July 26th, 2025, the following will be held: public consultations on the request for extension of the PER Douillac bringing the total area of the PER Douillac to 297.77 km² and on the requests for extension of the PER Douillac and Pierrepinet for a period of five years.
In March 2025, the Compagnie des Mines Arédiennes has started geological reconnaissance surveys in the commune of Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche using two drills in the area of the former Laurieras mining site. The work will then move to the former Moulin de Cheni mining site.
In accordance with current regulations, Compagnie des Mines Arédiennes submitted its work program for 2025 to the Haute-Vienne Prefect in December 2024.
In August 2024, Compagnie des Mines Arédiennes filed declarations for the opening of geological reconnaissance drilling in the commune of Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche. On November 14, 2024, in three prefectoral decrees, the Prefect of the Haute-Vienne department prescribed additional measures governing the execution of this work.
